We're excited to launch our fiscal sponsorship program, empowering local artists and creative businesses to turn their visions into reality!
Are you a local artist, creative business owner, or running a creative project in Chewelah but lack 501(c)(3) nonprofit status? It can be challenging to apply for grants or accept tax-deductible donations. We're here to help you unlock those opportunities.
What is fiscal sponsorship?
Think of us as your nonprofit umbrella. The Chewelah Creative District allows mission-appropriate projects to operate under our established 501(c)(3) status. This enables you to solicit tax-deductible contributions and apply for grants that usually require nonprofit status.
How it works
Our program uses the common and flexible "Model C: Pre-Approved Grant" approach, designed to keep you in the driver's seat of your project:
- You Find the Funds: You identify grants or potential donors and pitch your project.
- Funds Flow Through Us: The grant or donation is made to the Chewelah Creative District.
- We Grant it Back to You: We verify the funds are used for the charitable purpose outlined in your agreement and issue the funds to you as a grant.
- You Keep Control: You manage your project day-to-day, handle your own expenses and liabilities, and own your own intellectual property.
We only take a small administrative fee from funds we process to cover our costs, ensuring your focus remains on your creative work.
